UPDATE AREA

April 2008
Fr. Richard Cavellier will become Pastor of St. Columban and St. Alan parishes effective July 1, 2008.  We will have a new Mass schedule the weekend of July 5/6.  This will be for 6 months and then evaluated at that time.  Discussion is taking place regarding the 6 pm LIFE teen Mass.  There are several possibilities being discussed.  If you missed the town hall meetings, please use the suggestion/comment box in the parish center.  It is purple and on the shelf by the bulletin board.

January 2008, Steering Committee Meeting Minutes

As of December 2007, the steering committee, pastoral council and worship commission are discerning proposed Mass schedules.  The information gleaned from the Survey at St. Columban was helpful.  Your honest participation offered insight and guidance.  We look forward to January as a proposal packet will be considered that our prospective Pastor will review.  Also, the committee is reviewing the rectory properties for usage possibilities.  Keep praying!

November:  A Survey was conducted last weekend and will continue through November 18th, 2007 @ St. Columban.

Please turn in all survey responses ASAP.

Results will be tallied and considered as both parishes formulate a proposed Mass schedule for the Cluster.

As you know, both parishes remain in a cluster model yet there is one Pastor over both parishes.  It is not likely that one Pastor, even with help, will maintain the 7 Masses we currently have.

Again, please share your thoughts and keep your parish home in your prayers as we discern this new and exciting time.

ST. COLUMBAN CLUSTER PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for the gift of our Catholic faith.  We thank you for the gift our communities of St. Columban and St Alan have been for us over many years.  We also thank you for those who have pastored us over those years.

We now come before you and ask your blessing on us as we work toward the cluster of our two parishes.  We ask you to show us the way.  Teach us to use our strengths and to recognize our weaknesses and allow You to work through those weaknesses to help bring forth communities that are shining examples of your love and acceptance.  Give us the courage to truly listen to each other.

We also pray and lift up the priest that you have chosen to lead these communities.  Help us to love him and help us to see his gifts and truly accept him for who he is as he accepts us for who we are.  Help all of us to grow toward the vision that you have for us as individuals and as communities.

In Jesus's name,  Amen.
